This role sits out of our eastern region office located in Clifton, New Jersey, and is also remote, when needed. Overview We are looking for a strong IT Helpdesk Technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them.A great candidate must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers. The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company's reputation and business. Thus, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are a must for this position due to a high priority on customer service.Principal Duties and End Results-- Handle Tier 1 IT Helpdesk escalations through tickets or phone-- Collect information on new Helpdesk requests and either resolve or escalate to the proper IT member-- Monitor Helpdesk queues throughout the day and keep all tickets updated and on schedule -- Follow up on unresolved PLG Helpdesk requests & close resolved or superseded tickets-- Report status to users or requesters related to ongoing issues-- Create and manage user ID's-- Password resets following documented procedures -- Assist in various systems and network administration tasks as directed by Senior IT members-- Analyze trends and provide recommendation reports; ad hoc -- Provide first level support and installs for Microsoft Office applications and other line of business apps-- Demonstrate an aptitude and willingness to learn and apply new technology skills-- Rotating on-call schedule-- May require light travel to associated PLG locationsA strong candidate for this IT Helpdesk Technician opportunity must have: * 3+ years--of hands-on IT Helpdesk Tech experience* Bachelors' degree in computer science or business related field preferred* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)* Knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware* Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10* Able to manage multiple priorities* Aptitude in problem solving and decision-making* Ability to work well with others, follow instructions and communicate both verbal and written to PLG Users and other IT members* Strong customer service and troubleshooting skillsIn addition, you will have the following core competencies and characteristics: * Able to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.* Curiosity, creativity and effective research skills.* Friendly and professional demeanor coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills* Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.* The ability to thrive and meet goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.If you are interested, we encourage you to apply today!
