Patients have around-the-clock access to a health-care team and

advocate for prenatal health and education, Optum offers prenatal

education.Infusion Center for Optum has an immediate opening for a
friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Care
Coordinator to join our team. The hours are Monday through and
Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be asked to float to other
practices as needed, and maybe asked to work some Saturdays as
needed. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the
completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with
all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of
the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to
Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical
and service goalsPrimary Responsibilities:
- Greet patient when entering the practice
- Obtain prior authorizations for infusion procedures
- Obtain co-pay assistance for infusion services
- Maintain authorization logs
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name,
address, insurance information
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service
- Confirms and schedule appointments
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
- Collects co-pays or outstanding balances on the date of
service
- Perform referral documentation promptly
- Performs certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt
and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments,
scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining copies lab results
or specialist reports
- Adhere to the standards identified in Optum's Employee Policy
Manual
- Cooperate with other Optum employees to achieve specific team
goals
- Keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their
position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and
abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- Assist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation
and delivery of excellent service through teamwork
- Demonstrate respect for patients and Optum staff by presenting
a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient
confidentiality

- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of experience processing and obtaining medical
authorizations
- Advanced level of computer proficiency (ability to multi-task
through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel,
and Word)
- Ability to travel 10% of the time to other practices as
needed
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this
role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster
doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth
