Location: -hybrid - onsite in Lodi, NJ -near I-80 Expressway, just north of Teterboro and South Hackensack, NJ. - You may work from home up to 2 days/week!

Our client is a frozen food processor with a more than 50 year history in the food manufacturing industry. - They are seeking a Buyer to purchase key food ingredients and packaging for their ongoing food production operations. - This can be an entry-level role for someone with just a couple of years of food industry experience in purchasing.

Compensation / Benefits:

• Salary range: $80,000-$85,000
• Bonus: 6% of base, paid out annually
• Safe harbor 401k with company match of 4% of salary when you contribute 5%!
• 11 paid holidays and 15 days of paid time off

• You may work from home up to 2 days/week!Major Responsibilities:
  • Purchase raw materials for manufacturing and packaging of food items, maintaining accurate purchase order records
  • Oversee -and maintain -raw material -inventory, documenting all items -in ERP system
  • Analyze -current and future sales to ensure proper inventory levels
  • Develop -and maintain -relationships with wholesalers and suppliers
  • Work -closely with procurement to assist in negotiating contracts
  • Verify -invoices and work with AP to ensure vendors are paid in an accurate and timely fashionCompetencies Needed:
    • Bachelor's Degree in business, operations management, or related field preferred, but not required
    • 2+ years of purchasing experience in a food manufacturing environment -
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite -and ERP system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or similar
    • Efficient typing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing
    • Ability to compile information and make decisions
