Job Description:
Job DescriptionThe Business Development Associate is responsible
for developing new business by targeting the right customers,
developing relationships with them, understanding their needs,
creating customized proposals, and, ultimately, finalizing client
engagements. The ideal candidate will have experience within
contract manufacturing or other services in a cGMP or regulated
environment. Growth opportunities are available due to ongoing
global and domestic expansion of the enterprise.
- Respond to incoming requests and proactively solicit targets to
develop leads.
- Qualify leads through discussion while building relationships
with target customers.
- Shepherd customers through the sales process including
confidentiality agreements, technical calls, high level estimates,
proposals, and agreements.
- Manage development and maintenance of proposal content
database.
- Identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities to
improve sales processes and their effectiveness
- Maintain service offering knowledge through participation in
tours, sales meetings, and other training opportunities
- Help to achieve annual sales plan and targets
- Establish, nurture, and grow customer relationships at the
appropriate levels
- Provide weekly activity reports to management through proper
use of customer relationship management system
- Provide general intelligence on key competitors and customers
into customer relationship management system
- Support the development of sales and marketing promotion
support materials including, but not limited to, presentations,
brochures, questionnaires, and white papers
- Manages and coordinates company involvement at regional and
international conferences/events including planning, logistics and
on-site support. REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a life sciences area or business field
required, master's preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in technical sales, preferably related
directly to the pharmaceutical and biotechnical sector with direct
interaction with mid-level and executive-level decision makers
required OR similar amount of experience in cell and gene therapy
science or technical operations.
- Demonstrated writing and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Facility with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint).
- Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
- Up to 10% travel, US and international, required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments
- Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base
- Ability to develop strong working relationship with internal
and external resources.
- Must be a dedicated self-starter with a high energy level and
able to achieve results.
- Proven ability to challenge the status quo and regularly think
of ways to do things differently together with having strong
problem-solving skills.
- Ability to comfortably interact and clearly communicate with
individuals at all levels of the organization to provide program
updates and reviews.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically

- Strong collaborative and influencing skills and ability to work
well in a cross-functional, matrixed environment
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task is essential
- Flexible and able to adapt to company growth and evolving
responsibilities.
