Description: Job Title: Manager, Software Engineer - Group Leader Job Code: SAS20231205-100768 Job Location: Clifton, NJ Job Description: L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer Group Leader to lead and direct experienced software engineers, developing complex engineering solutions. The Group Leader directs a talented team of software engineers for L3Harris Electronic Warfare (EW) programs which provide critical capabilities to our warfighters. The engineering leader will reside in L3Harris' Clifton, NJ, office. Clifton is a regional commercial hub for North Jersey and a bedroom suburb of New York City in the New York Metropolitan Area. Essential Functions: The SW Group Leader position is responsible for the oversight, mentoring, and development of a department of SW Engineers and their assignment to, and oversight of, projects that they are assigned to. This position requires the candidate to be able to handle and support different project and corporate demands as needed on a daily basis. Specific responsibilities include:

• Performing semi-annual performance appraisals;
• Performing yearly salary reviews and proposing salary increases;
• Ensuring all L3Harris assigned training is completed on-time;
• Ensuring Staff members follow all L3Harris rules and guidelines;
• Approving weekly timecards;
• Assigning Engineers to meet program demands;
• Ensuring SW Engineers assigned to projects complete tasks on-time and on-budget with acceptable quality;
• Supporting proposal activities;Providing technical leadership to SW Staff members;
  • Develop effort estimates;
  • Develop SW schedules;
  • Develop written proposal sections;
  • Support negotiations as necessary;
  • Mentoring and developing SW Staff members capabilities;
  • Reviewing weekly status reports and providing staff members with guidance, as needed;
  • Reporting to Project Management, SW Management and Leadership the status of SW activities.
  • Perform project activities within the environment specified, above. Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
    • 4 years of SW Task Leadership or prior Leadership experience.
    • 4 years of software task/team leadership or prior leadership experience.
    • Software development experience with hands-on experience of leading-edge technologies including embedded or web development.
    • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, TDD, and Model Based software development.
    • Experience leading programs with successful performance.
    • Eligible for a Secret security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills:
      • Active DoD Secret security clearance
      • Experience coaching, mentoring, teaching, and building relationships.
      • Experience with Electronic Warfare Systems.
      • Experience with Embedded Software Development.
      • Experience with Agile Development and Scrum.
      • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS).
      • Experience with proposal estimating.
      • Experience with resolving issues across groups and drive innovative solutions to solve execution challenges.
      • Experience with DevOps and a proven track record building a CI/CD pipeline.
      • Control Account Management (CAM) experience.
      • Certified SCRUM Master, Product Owner, or Coach.
