Job Description Position Overview Title: Echo Ultrasound Tech - Pediatrics Location: Flushing, NY 11355 Duration: 2 Months Contract With High Chances of Extension Job Summary Prepares patient for examination, focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms, performs ultrasound procedures, relieves patients of pre-testing anxiety, and directly observes and monitors the patient during the entire process. Sets up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion. Carefully reviews prior reports and images, and the patient's chart. Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and thorough, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified. Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area. Required Skills & Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of Pediatrics experience. Experienced Sonographer to perform high-quality Pediatrics Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premier cardiac center. Dedicated inpatient echo work experience is a must. Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography. Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills. Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies. Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and quickly respond to critical findings.
