The Deputy Director will be a member of the Executive Team, for a
peer lead mental health nonprofit agency, and is responsible to
oversee and support the operations and lead in the integration of
programs and services in the assigned region. The Deputy Director,
under the direction of the CEO, will focus and be able to
conceptualize and formulate strategic initiatives that further the
agency mission and vision all while ensuring that the day-to-day
operations and initiatives are being met for all programs and
services in the assigned region. This role works closely with the
Chief Executive Officer to flesh out the short and long term goals
for the assigned region. This role will have oversight of
supportive residential and community outreach programs for Bergen,
Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Morris and Sussex Counties. The Deputy
Director will lead and supervise 3 direct reports. Essential Duties
and Responsibilities of a Deputy Director
- Is accountable for the operations and success of all the
programs within assigned region.
- Supervises the Regional Coordinators within the region.
- Is accountable to supervise members assigned to team using the
coaching model.
- Signs requests and maintains time off & conference
schedule.
- Conducts corrective disciplinary action in consultation with
CEO as appropriate.
- Provides input and makes recommendations to the CEO regarding
staff selection.
- Works with Director to evaluate QI results. Establishes &
implements effective corrective action plans.
- Facilitates regular regional wide meetings.
- Facilitates good communication within team and with CEO.
- Implements wellness and recovery model in service delivery
consistent with agency stated mission, vision, values, and
Psychiatric Rehabilitation principals.
- Responds to inquiries & requests promptly (e-mails, phone
calls, correspondence). Emergent requests should be responded to
immediately (same day). Urgent requests should be responded to
within two days. Routine requests should be responded to within
three work days.
- The Deputy Director will act as a liaison with DMHAS program
analyst staff, related to matters within the assigned region.
- The Deputy Director is responsible for performing a wide
variety of duties, under the supervision of the Chief Executive
Officer.
Requirements:
- Person with the lived experience of using mental health
services is strongly preferred.
- A Master's degree from an accredited College or University in a
mental health related discipline previous experience in a
supervisory role required.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, and
collaboration.
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently.
- Clinical License (LPC, LCSW, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Experience serving individuals with substance use disorders is
strongly preferred.
- Valid NJ Driver's License and acceptable driving record is
