Job Description:

Our client, a leading non-profit healthcare system in New Jersey, is looking to add an outpatient clinic nurse to their multiple myeloma team. The clinic nurse will work hands on to provide patient care in clinic, coordinating care, and acting as a patient advocate throughout their treatment. Focus: * Provides direct patient care from initial diagnosis throughout the treatment continuum. * Participates in the collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for multiple myeloma patients and their families. * Completes initial assessments and patient triage. * Identifies potential problems and helps develop solutions to meet desired patient outcomes. * Provide patient and family education on disease and treatment plan. * Supports immediate revision of the plan of care as per the physician and collaborating APN and initiates immediate teaching/education with the oncology patient and their significant other(s) to support/meet desired outcomes and documents appropriately. * Support quality improvement programs to help deliver the highest possible levels of service. Skill Set: * Previous RN experience in critical care medicine or any oncology sub-specialty. Heme Malignancies experience highly preferred. * BSN required * OCN preferred * Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team. * Commitment to helping others, while displaying a positive attitude.
