Assistant Vice President - Corporate Finance for Alleghany
Corporation in New York, NY to Analyze M&A opportunities, including related financial modeling, financial
reports and financial and business documentation; Preparing presentations for the Alleghany Board of Directors
around various topics, including corporate strategy, peer analytics, and quarterly results; Develop and oversee
Environmental Social Governance (ESG) initiatives, together
with Alleghany's Associate General Counsel; Coordinate the annual
company-wide financial planning process (build/update consolidating planning model, coordinate
subsidiary submissions, conduct various related analyses and draft resulting presentation for the Alleghany Board of
Directors); Ensure the completion of the "own risk and solvency" (ORSA) process including consolidating the results of
group wide stress scenarios into Alleghany's consolidated ORSA Report, and preparing related regulatory
filings and Alleghany Board of Directors reports; Manage reinsurance security committee assessment and oversight of
counterparty credit; Oversee the completion of rating agency surveys and related requests; Interface with existing and
potential investors, coordinating Investor Relations (IR) outreach efforts and targeting, and track investor activity
using database; Prepare investor profiles to assist management team with investor meetings; Prepare investor
presentations, assist with quarterly filings and releases; Work with IR website provider to ensure website remains
up-to-date and reflects quarterly releases. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus sixty months of experience in investment banking-related experience
or, alternatively, a master's degree and thirty-six months of experience in investment banking-related experience.
Specific skills/other requirements Must also possess the following: Mergers and acquisitions modeling,
analysis and execution of complex transactions for insurance companies (3 + years); Valuation of potential
acquisition targets including the use of discounted cash flow analysis (DCF), precedent transactions, and public comparables
(3 + years); Financial analysis: understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting principles for insurance companies
to analyze income and cash flow statements and balance sheet items and evaluate financial performance, and
model/project earnings, cash flows and other financial metrics (3 + years); Advanced proficiency in the use of
Microsoft Excel including advanced finance and statistical formulas to analyze large amounts of data, perform peer
benchmarking analyses and facilitate financial modeling (3 + years); Preparation of presentations for executive management
teams and Board of Directors on various topics including financial results, corporate strategy and financial
projections, potential acquisitions/divestitures, peer analysis and benchmarking, potential risk exposures (3 + years);
Analyzing aggregations of risk across credit risk, insurance risk, and investment/market risk and preparing risk
assessments (identification and quantification) (2 + years); Experience with defining organizational risk appetite
and designing and implementing risk policies and governance (2 + years); and Experience cultivating and
maintaining stakeholder relationships, including ongoing dialogue and interaction with investors, rating agencies and
