Job Description

AECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Project Director and New Jersey Municipal Business Developer for immediate employment to be based out of our Clifton, New Jersey office. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a project director on regional, state, and municipal water and wastewater projects, and demonstrated ability to develop business with existing and new clients in New Jersey. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Develops and leads capture of new business.

Identifies, pre-positions, and leads program and project pursuits for new and existing clients.

Directs and manages the entire project from planning through design and construction.

Overall responsibility of the project including but not limited to financial performance, schedule, staffing, execution, and contract closeout.

Provides guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and is the primary liaison between AECOM and the client.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with twelve (12+) years of related experience in water/wastewater/water resources consulting and engineering management

Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey

Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems and client/consultant relations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

20+ years of related experience in water/wastewater/water resources consulting and engineering management

Registered Professional Engineer licensed in New Jersey and New York or capable of obtaining the required license within 9 months of employment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Participation in water community activities including Water Environment Federation and American Water Works Association

Proven ability of leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and managing project deliveries

Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams
