Job Description:
McKessonRxOPatient Assistance Services is a recovery service
that secures free medications by utilizing manufacturer
patient-assistance programs (PAPs). It helps hospital pharmacies
replace drugs dispensed or administered to low-income, uninsured
and under-insured patients. In addition, McKessonRxO coordinates
free medical device replacements for many of the implantable
devices used during the care of indigent patients. The program also
helps coordinate co-pay assistance for many of the high-cost drugs
that seem unaffordable for insured patients. The Patient Assistance
Service Manager oversees and leads a group of +10 Patient
Assistance Program (PAP) Representatives. The Manager is
responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the complete
day to day operations and revenue goals of the PAP program across
multiple health systems. Human Resources Management
- Manages recruitment efforts including collaboration with TA
department; conducts interviews, makes hiring decisions, and
develops staffing plan and schedule to supportcustomer needs.
- Supervises activities of all staff; provides clear directions
and establishes effective feedback system to and from team
members.
- Addresses employee relations issues promptly and
constructively.
- Manages staff performance through positive reinforcement of
right behaviors and progressive discipline for
detractingbehaviors.
- Takes a proactive approach to identify
operational/performance/skills gapsand develops coaching and or
training plans to ensure staff meet performance expectations.
- Effectively problem solves and makes sound business decisions.
Works with senior leaders to develop strategies that boast
engagement.
- Creates an environment that fosters trust and inclusion,
promotes diversity and creativity, and upholds continuous ICARE &
ILEAD behaviors.
- Manages workplace conflict and execution of terminations as
needed.
- Provides hands on leadership, coaching and mentoring to Sr Reps
and Reps. Customer Management
- The Manager assumes ownership of a group of customers which
includes making complex decisions related to changing priorities,
work processes, and recovery management to maximize revenues that
meet and/or exceed monthly revenue goals.
- This fast paced, high volume environment allows the Manager to
handle complex reimbursement and PAP issues and processes.
- These reimbursement processes include how to analyze drug
purchase history to identify new purchasing trends and evaluate
operational gaps to improve processes and maximize
efficiencies.
- Works closely with other departments to present the success of
the program and discusses challenges and resolutions to make the
program better at their facilities.
- Managers are required to drive revenue by analyzing available
recovery, identifying opportunities to grow the business,
collaborating with other departments to drive the strategy and
implementation of PAP service expansions, and meeting with
customers to spread program awareness and provide education on new
PAP service areas.
- Target data delays by analyzing trends and challenges to ensure
continued customer value.
- They provide effective leadership and counsel to customers to
fully execute the terms of theMcKesson RxO contract, maintain
positive relationships with their customers, andensure program
satisfaction.
- Effectively responds to escalated issues from customers and
manufacturer PAP programs. Product Expertise
- Responsible for understanding and remaining current with the
more than 50+ manufacturer programs and 2000+ drugs and strengths
that are included in the PAPprograms.
- Remains current with the ever-changing application and
enrollment process, qualifying criteria and other processes so as
to maximize the program efficiencies.
- Is seen as the PAP expert for hospitals and
representatives.
- Engages in proactive communications with drug and device
manufacturers about their assistance programs so as to expand
recovery savings for McKesson RxO customers.
- Provides backup PAP support where needed and engages with
Product Management team to provide feedback on development of
software technology. Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree preferred
- +6 plus years of related experience, 1-2 years of supervisory
experience.
- Healthcare, Reimbursement or Account Management industry
experience preferred.
- Strong Analytics skills
- Sales experience in meeting/exceeding revenue goals
- Ability to be self-directed and autonomous
- Must be proactive with lots of initiative
- Must have ability to multitask and prioritize workloads
- Must possess strong interpersonal and relationship building
skills
- Must have analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have understanding of confidentiality of patient records
