Credit Management Associate - Corporate & Investment Banking (C&IB)New York, United States of AmericaWHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGThe Credit Management Associate - Corporate & Investment Banking (C&IB) is an important member of the team. - S/he manages a very active portfolio of complex and/or high dollar banking loan relationships, and routinely monitors them for risks inherent in a business loan portfolio and provides support to the Team Leader on continuous improvement initiatives and takes the lead on projects that support loan growth and efficiency objectives within lines of business. The individual helps deliver an industry-leading experience for both internal and external customers and acts as a subject matter expert.Responsibilities:

• Support underwriters in collaboration with bankers in preparing credit approval memos with recommendations consistent with bank policy that illustrate well-reasoned analysis
• Identify, gather and analyze relevant information to assess credit risk, establish viability of sources of repayment and determine appropriate loan structures -
• Perform reviews and support management of the assigned portfolio to identify and minimize risk to the organization
• Provide quality customer service, including participation in joint calls on customers, as needed. Support the team on special projects
• Manage transactions from start to finish including borrower rating, analysis of transaction terms & conditions, industry analysis, financial modelling and presentation to credit committee
• Portfolio management of an assigned portfolio of clients including, covenant monitoring, ratings, and periodic borrower reviews
• Develop a deep understanding of the assigned portfolio through close following of company developments, press releases and news reports
• Identify risk and mitigants and articulate them through written word and through incorporating them into the financial model
• Oversees internal approval process including ensuring accurate and timely completion of internal approval write-ups and leading deal merit discussion on internal approval calls
• Reviews relevant deal documents / information provided in data room, by Company / Sponsor, and third party reportsQualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics or equivalent field
  • MBA or CFA Charter preferred
  • 5+ -years - Experience with underwriting loan transactions
  • 5+ -years - Financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management
  • Completion of bank-certified course in Credit Training
  • Creative with high level of intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to foster strong partnerships with the related documentation and underwriting units
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with little supervision and simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work well with others and on teams
