I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge.Job DescriptionAbout the role:As Head, Cell Therapy Program Management, you will assume the role as the lead on cell therapy program management and be accountable for both operational aspects of the cell therapy programs and the management of cell therapy program managers. You will use cell therapy development knowledge of the applicant to support streamlined execution across the team and organization. There are multiple complexities inherent with this therapeutic modality and this role is important in establishing a framework for cell therapy operational excellence. You will improve team performance and establish a standard for Takeda's Cell Therapy Global Program Management, improving team dynamics. There are two specific aspects for this role 1) Set a new precedent for global project management of cell therapies 2) Provide the CT program management team operational oversight and experienceHow you will contribute:

  • Provide program management and leadership to a global, cross-functional, matrixed -franchise team to lead all aspects of development operations.
  • Improve "ways of working" for the oncology cell therapy programs, with an initial focus on learnings from the most advanced asset in the cell therapy portfolio
  • Continue to develop how the enterprise GPT model is applied to the cell therapy programs. Based on the organizational needs and interfaces that might be different establish and clarify roles and responsibilities across the OTAU, OBU, ODDU, Asia development team, and core R&D line functions
  • Manage the cell therapy GPM team, with a focus on empowerment, mentoring, and continued development of "ways of working" that support the unique aspects of cell therapy drug development. Ensure there is a collaborative partnership between cell therapy GPMs and GPLs
  • Develop the GPT model to be applied to the cell therapy portfolio
  • Work with line function leads across CTTE, OTAU, OBU and core R&D to ensure there is transparency and cooperation across the cell therapy GPTs concerning roles and responsibilities, resourcing, governance, and prioritization
  • Ensure collaboration and consistency with the broader Takeda governance regarding reporting, goals tracking, and portfolio planning processes
  • Ensure asset strategy and integrated development plan have a patient-centric focus, incorporate innovative approaches that are meaningful to patients, HCPs, regulators & payers, and follow the highest standards of operational excellence in drug development and life cycle management. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree science or business-related field
    • Advanced degree in science or business is preferred
    • Preferred: 10+ years of in-depth biopharma industry experience and drug development in all phases of development with significant experience within related functions (e.g. Clinical Science, Clinical Operations, Research, Regulatory, CMC, Marketing)
    • 6+ years program management experience leading complex drug development projects in a multi-disciplinary, global environment with focus on new modalities such as cell therapy or gene therapy.
    • Matrix program leadership experience
    • Ability to work in a virtual setting/across time-zones, i.e., making use of communication tools (WebEx, TelePresence, telephone and video conferencing, etc.)
    • Ability to inspire and motivate in a matrix and global, cross-geographical team
    • Ability to work in a highly complex, multi-cultural, environment
    • Experience with Microsoft Project Professional, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint & Word
    • May travel to the US, EU and Japan offices and other international locations.

Base Salary Range: $194,600-$278,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well.
