POSITION SUMMARY: The Estimator would be responsible for bid cost estimates and preparing bids for utility work in the gas, water, and sewer sectors being pursued as well as managing these projects through construction. 1. Review bid documents and make note of requirements 2. Producing timely and accurate estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid platform. 3. Work closely with clients, contractors, and third-party providers in development of a project. 4. Responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, communication, resource, issues, risks, change control and contractor management plans. Level of detail is driven by project size and complexity 5. Generate RFIs for project clarification and/or requirements. 6. Prepare bid proposals and SOW’s for submittal and follow–up. 7. Expedite execution and return of subcontractor agreements 8. Maintain organization of project information 9. Providing timely and accurate material take offs 10. Producing timely and accurate estimates through use of MS Excel and internal database 11. Establishing and setting priorities according to your workload Competencies 1. College degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration 2. Five years of experience of related experience preferably in the heavy civil construction field 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 4. Excellent customer service skills Knowledge and understanding of project specifications for utility infrastructure construction projects 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills 6. Demonstrate strong attention to detail 7. Experience with the use of estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Project Management Heavy Job & Timberline 8. Strong MS Excel skills 9. Knowledge of the utility industry 10.
